The Swan and Dolphin Resort is the headquarters hotel for the ISPE 2010 Annual Meeting. ISPE reservations will be at the Dolphin.

The Swan and Dolphin Resort offers ISPE meeting attendees a discounted hotel rate of US$269 (resort fee included). The Resort Service Package is $10 per day and is included in the ISPE rate. The Resort Service Package offers the following:

  • up to 60 minutes free local telephone calls, toll free and credit card access calls (.10 cents per minute after 60 minutes)
  • 20 minutes of domestic long distance per day;
  • unlimited access to the resort’s health club facilities
  • in room high-speed Internet access (wired and wireless)
  • 2 bottles of water daily.

Deposit and Cancellation Policy for the Swan and Dolphin Resort 

A deposit of one night ($302.63 including taxes) is required and nonrefundable after 13 October. Credit cards will be charged one night as of 14 October. Guests cancelling their stay after 15.00, 24 hours prior to check in, will be charged their full stay. Please note that if you do not arrive on the first day of your room reservation, the Swan and Dolphin Resort will charge you a no-show fee equal to one night and may not have a hotel room available when you arrive. Please remember to contact the hotel if you are delayed.

Hotel Parking 

Self parking is US$11 and valet US$18 for overnight guests. For those not staying at the hotel, parking is US$12 for self parking and valet US$15 for each time parking.

Airport Transportation 

Orlando International Airport (MCO) – 22.1 mi/35.6 km – about 28 minutes from the Swan and Dolphin Resort

Destination Express 

ISPE is partnering with Destination Express, an exclusive point to point transfer service designed specifically for ISPE Annual Meeting attendees. They will provide arrival transfers from the Orlando International Airport and departure transfers from the Dolphin Resort. Uniformed Destination Express staff will greet each attendee in baggage claim with a sign. This is an advance reservation service exclusive for ISPE attendees only and reservations must be made in advance. Destination Express is not allowed to take anyone without a reservation. Reservations are required by 3 November

Disney Transportation 

Complimentary scheduled transportation to Walt Disney World® Theme Parks and attractions, including water taxis to Disney’s Hollywood Studios™, Epcot®, and Disney’s BoardWalk entertainment district, is also available.

Dress is Business Casual 

All ISPE Annual Meeting delegate functions are business casual. The evening functions are casual. Typical autumn weather in Orlando calls for high temperatures around 78°F/25°C and lows around 57°F/13°C. Temperatures in meeting rooms tend to be cool, so bring a light jacket or sweater.

The country code for the United States is 1. The area code for Orlando is 407. For assistance from an operator dial "0". To find a local or national telephone number, dial "411;" in a few places it is necessary to dial "555-1212." International calls can be direct-dialed from most phones by dialing "011," followed by the country code and then the local number.

Currency

The basic unit U.S. currency is the dollar, which is subdivided into 100 cents. In the United States, it is not as easy to find places to exchange currency as it is in European cities. In general, currency may be exchanged at currency-exchange booths in the airport and at foreign-currency offices such as Express Travel Service.

Electricity

The U.S. electrical standard is 110 volt/60 cycles AC. International visitors traveling with dual-voltage appliances will not need a converter, but they will need a plug adapter. The standard U.S. electrical outlet takes a plug of two flat pins set parallel to one another.

NOTE: ISPE would like to warn all of our delegates planning on attending the ISPE Annual Meeting in Orlando to NOT BOOK A HOTEL ROOM when contacted by other companies such as Convention Expo Travel or Convention Housing Services. We have been alerted by delegates that these companies are contacting exhibiting companies directly and advising that they officially represent the conference. They have done this for other events and attendees have found they are not at the headquarters hotel or they do not have any reservation even though they gave the company credit card information.
