Session Description

Industry consolidation, reduction in work force, and increasing complexities with manufacturing supply chains is driving a growing need to ensure that the teams who design, operate and maintain manufacturing facilities are properly trained, have real time access to corporate knowledge, and benefit from shared learning. This session will draw focus on the importance of Knowledge Management, Work Force Training, and Individual Professional Development. Hear from the Amgen program sponsor about their Knowledge Management program. Dennis Murphy will present the program emphasizing its importance to the organization, the elements of the program, and benefits realized since program implementation. Finally, attendees will be exposed to some innovative programs for individual professional development, programs targeted at aligning individuals goals with company goals. Such programs serve to increase the collective knowledge of an organization but also result in greater employee engagement and motivation.
