The Golden LEAF Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center on the Centennial Campus at North Carolina State University provides a unique pilot-scale, industry-informed, cGMP environment critical to developing professionals proficient in the skills needed in the biomanufacturing industry. It is the only center of its kind in the nation. The hands-on, industry-specific education and training provided exists nowhere else.
The training facility features:
- 63,000+ gsf lab training space
- 9,000 gsf high-tech classrooms
- Bioreactors (2L, 30L, and 300L)
- Bioreactor control systems
- Automation with next-generation distributed control architecture
- Downstream separation and purification processes
- Aseptic processing operations
- Remote learning and data acquisition capacity on process scale equipment
- Numerous bench-scale labs to enable learning in nextgeneration biomanufacturing technologies such as disposables, animal cell and tissue culture, cell therapy, protein and metabolic engineering, miniaturization and high throughput technologies and bioanalytical methodologies
