Registration Process and Event Check-In

Registration will be open 07.30 – 17.00 Monday - Wednesday. Upon check in, you will receive your badge and all the essential information you will need for the 2008 BTEC Event.

Delegates who have not yet registered will go to the registration counter. The staff member at the counter will register you and provide you with your badge and all the essential information you will need.

Airport/Directions

Closest Airport: Raleigh Durham International Airport (RDU) (12.07 miles, 19 minutes) (Directions are to BTECH Center)

From I-40, take the Gorman Street exit towards NC State. Turn right onto Avent Ferry Road (second light), then turn right onto Varsity Drive (first light). Stop at the Information Booth to purchase a parking permit, which will cost $2.00 (tell the Booth attendant you're attending a meeting in the BTEC).

Continue straight on Varsity Drive until it reaches a dead end at Partners Way. The back of the BTEC building will be on your left and you can park in the second deck on the left. Enter the main lobby through the front entrance of the building, and pass through the wood double doors on the left to reach the BTEC main office.

Transportation, Parking, Taxi

Approximate taxi cost is US$27.50 (rate may vary dependant upon hotel). To schedule a taxi, please call (919) 840-7277. Reservations and on-demand service are available.

A parking garage is located behind BTEC. Entrance to the Centennial Park has an entrance where attendees can purchase an all-day parking pass for US$2. Parkers who do not have a pass will be ticketed by the University.

Facility Policies

No smoking is allowed within 25 feet of the building, as dictated by state law. Attendees must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes.

Weather and What to Wear

Typical spring weather in Raleigh calls for high temperatures around 78°F/26°C and lows around 57°F/14°C. Dress for all sessions is business casual. The Facility Policy dictates that attendees wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Temperatures in meeting rooms tend to be cool so bring a light jacket or sweater.

Networking Reception

There will be a Networking Reception held on Tuesday Evening and during the 2008 BTECH event from 17.00 – 19.00. Use this time to meet your colleagues and make new resources. Dress is business casual.

Amedeo's Italian Restaurant – Celebrating home-style Italian dishes, Amedeo's serves a variety of pastas and appetizers you won't be able to wait to get your hands on. Open daily.

Ba Da Wings – Try the signature jumbo wings in true buffalo style! Ba Da Wings offers the freshest white meat wings, hand battered and served just the way you like them! Open nightly for dinner.

Abyssinia Ethiopian Restaurant – Offering beef, lamb and vegetarian, Abyssinia offers a unique perspective to dining. Open daily.

Applebee's – Enjoy the variety Applebee's has to offer. From a variety of appetizing starters to delicious desserts, Applebee's offers something for everyone. Open daily.

Farmhouse Pizza and Plates – Try out Farmhouse for a one-of-a-kind dining experience! Enjoy a delicious pizza or try out a plate (two sides topped with hamburger or hot dogs and smothered in hot chili, mustard and onions) and some fat bags (fries topped with whatever you can think of)! Open daily.

East Village Grill and Bar – This cute little grille is the perfect place to sit back and relax. Burgers, sandwiches, salads and wraps are the specialties of the house and make for a great selection to choose from! Open daily.

Weather Emergencies

ISPE, in conjunction with the Golden LEAF Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center and local authorities, has your utmost safety in mind. All attendees will be notified or the Web site will be updated should there be a weather-related threat to the Raleigh area.
