Welcome to the ISPE Singapore Affiliate
With Singapore's growing and intensive focus on biomedical sciences and increasing investment in pharmaceutically based activities, the time was right to form an ISPE Affiliate to help promote and develop a professional pharmaceutical and engineering infrastructure.
The Affiliate was registered and launched in June 2000 and now has more than 400 Members and is still growing. We have welcomed more than 130 additional regional Members from countries such as the Philippines, China, Malaysia and Indonesia all who have expressed a strong interest in supporting Affiliate activities.
The Affiliate is managed by an Executive Committee composed of the senior management of the major pharmaceutical companies and their main service providers in Singapore.
Three subcommittees have been formed namely Events, Communications and Education whose objective are to take the Affiliate forward in terms of activities and programs.
We have now organized nine successful annual conferences in Singapore for the region, where attendance has increased by an average of 50% each year. This now a regular event on the international pharmaceutical calendar.
The aims of the ISPE Singapore Affiliate are to continue to develop an active events calendar and provide education and training services in Singapore and South East Asia for pharmaceuticals manufacture and GMP compliance.

Communities of Practice (COPs)
The ISPE’s COP is an open forum for individuals to connect and collaborate with professionals in their area of expertise.
Participants in a Community of Practice (COP) can:
- Engage in on-line discussions with industry professionals around the world
- Access a community-specific body of knowledge
- Collaborate on documents, important resources, and content relevant to the interests of the community
- Schedule electronic chats to discuss a particular issue or challenge
- Keep a calendar of important dates and meetings
- Obtain current news and learn about upcoming community activities
- Search for and find other ISPE or COP members
Critical Utilities (CU)
The Critical Utilities COP provides a discussion forum and network for Critical Utilities professionals by encouraging the sharing of ideas relevant to topics such as system design, commissioning & qualification, process validation, requalification, regulations, operations, and maintenance of critical utilities.
Critical Utilities COP Singapore
The ISPE Singapore Affiliate is launching a Critical Utilities COP at a local level to bring together professionals working directly in or serving the pharmaceutical industry in Singapore, by forming interest groups for the open exchange of opinions and ideas regarding hot topic issues revolving around critical utilities such as HVAC, Purified Water, WFI, and Clean Steam.
The objectives of this COP are to consolidate knowledge and expertise in the local industry to raise the level of knowledge and awareness in best practices for critical utilities; paving the way for greater cooperation within the local pharmaceutical fraternity beyond corporate lines and building up Singapore as a leading centre of knowledge and operational excellence.
