Speaker/Instructor Bios - Mel Crichton

Mel Crichton is retired from Eli Lilly & Company. He has more than 37 years of experience designing, building, and commissioning bulk and pharmaceutical plants. He is chair of the ISPE HVAC Community of Practice, and a member of the ISPE Technical Documents Executive Committee and the Facilities Technical Documents Sub-Committee. He has helped create several ISPE Baseline® Guides including the original versions of Bulk Pharmaceutical Chemical Facilities, Oral Solid Dosage Forms, Sterile Manufacturing Facilities, and the Biopharmaceuticals Baseline® Guide, and is currently a member of a team updating the Sterile Manufacturing Facilities Guide. Crichton has served on the ASHRAE Cleanroom Committee and represents ISPE on the U.S. Technical Advisory Group for ISO209 developing international standards on cleanroom construction. He earned a BS in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and is a Professional Engineer in Indiana as well as in Colorado, where he can also be found teaching others to ski.
