James Wood

James Wood James Wood is a member of the Containment Engineering Technology Center of Eli Lilly and Company. He has been responsible for the containment design of high-potency compound facilities, and has advised on containment issues in Lilly's effort to standardize manufacturing processes globally. He has worked with site operations in England, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Puerto Rico and the People's Republic of China, where he led planning, commissioning and troubleshooting of high-containment areas. He also participated with the Health and Human Services Agency in Washington, DC, in an advisory capacity regarding defense and preparation for potential future bioterrorism within US borders. The book Containment in the Pharmaceutical Industry, of which he is the developer and editor, was published in 2001. He is also the inventor on record for two patents, and is a speaker and course leader/developer at organizations such as ISPE, as well as a past guest lecturer for Purdue University. He has a mechanical engineering degree from Purdue, and is a licensed professional engineer and Member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and ISPE.
