Robert Matje, PE, CPIP is currently the Sr. Director of Engineering for Qualitest, Endo’s Generic Manufacturing Division. He is responsible for all divisional and plant engineering including environmental, health and safety, capital projects, reliability (maintenance), automation and packaging engineering. Prior to Qualitest, Mr. Matje held numerous positions in Wyeth, which was subsequently purchased by Pfizer, including Program Director for PNS Projects in Puerto Rico, an ex-pat assignment at our Newbridge, Ireland Facility, Director of Global Engineering Procurement, and Sr. Director, Engineering, Maintenance and Capital Planning responsible for Engineering Operations and Capital Management for Wyeth’s Pharmaceutical Operating Unit. Prior to Joining Wyeth/Pfizer Mr. Matje was an engineering consultant for several years serving the pharmaceutical, commercial, and environmental industries. He also held a sales position in a manufacturer’s equipment company and started his career in the U.S. Army as an Officer in the Combat Corps of Engineers serving in Germany and in Southwest Asia during Desert Shield/Storm. Mr. Matje is a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and recently earned his Certified Pharmaceutical Industry Professional (CPIP). He holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering from Villanova University and a Bachelors degree in Engineering from Lafayette College. Mr. Matje also serves as a director on several non-profit boards and is past president of the Board of Directors of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE) and is currently the Chairman of the International Oral Solid Dosage Community of Practice of ISPE.
