Mr. Kay is the Senior Global Director of Clinical Pharmacy for the Clinical Pharmacy Research Services (CPRS) organization at Genzyme Corporation. He is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the global Clinical Pharmacy organization located in North America, Europe, Latin America and Japan-Asia Pacific region. His global team of pharmacists manages Genzyme’s Investigational Product activities in support of clinical trials on a world-wide basis, including Investigator Sponsored Study (ISS) programs. The integrated CPRS model covers processes from the development of clinical protocols (investigational products), medication handling procedures, receipt and management of products (e.g. active, placebo, comparators) through to the labeling, packaging, release, distribution of final patient medication kits and clinical site pharmacy management. This ensures the highest level of GCP and GMP compliance. Mr. Kay has over 12 years of pharmaceutical and biotech experience with 25 years in the area of Clinical Pharmacy. He has been at Genzyme for over 12 years and has previously worked as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at New England Medical Center in Boston, MA. Mr. Kay is currently the CPRS Program Leader of the Genzyme / Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) Biopharmaceutical Fellowship program. Mr. Kay has a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from Northeastern University, College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions in Boston, MA.
