Richard D. Priester is a Principal of Strategic Facility Planning LLC, a consulting firm in the Boston area focusing on planning, designing, building, validating and licensing biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. He served as Co-Chair of the Biotechnology Baseline® Guide Steering Team. Through his career, Priester has worked in a variety of roles in the engineering, design, and construction of chemical and pharmaceutical and biotech facilities. Prior to entering the consulting field, he was director of engineering at Biogen, Inc., in Cambridge Massachusetts, during which time Biogen undertook two of its largest manufacturing projects in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. He worked for Badger Engineers and Turner Construction Company in various capacities. Priester served seven terms on the ISPE Board of Directors including Chairman of the Board, and is a frequent speaker and course leader for ISPE educational programs. He holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
