Ryan Schad is currently Business Operations Consultant for the vice president of Eli Lilly’s Corporate Engineering and Global Health, Safety and Environment organization. In this role he serves as chief of staff in addition to leading organizational improvement initiatives for the engineering function. Prior to this assignment Ryan was the leader of Engineering, Cleaning Technology, and Automation for Lilly’s bioprocess API clinical trial pilot plant. Earlier in his career, Ryan held various leadership positions in Lilly’s manufacturing and development organizations including managing Lilly’s large-scale insulin fermentation facility in Indianapolis. He also has prior experience at Eastman Chemical Company in both development and process design engineering. Ryan holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and is a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE). A licensed Professional Engineer in Indiana, Ryan is the author or co-author of several technical papers and articles.
