Dr. Prerona Chakravarty earned her doctoral degree in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and her bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Warangal, India. Highlights of her doctoral research involved devising a novel intracellular drug delivery technique using non-invasive laser radiation and carbon nanoparticles (Nature Nanotechnology. 2010 Aug;5(8):607-11), and presentation of her work at major conferences like annual meetings of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and the Controlled Release Society (CRS). Dr. Chakravarty joined Linde’s gases division in 2009 as part of the global application development team. She managed global projects for Linde’s Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology segment focused on developing improved manufacturing and preservation processes for pharmaceuticals and biologics. Her key contribution here was development of the Ice Fog Controlled Nucleation technology. She currently works for Genentech/Roche as an MSAT engineer and lyophilization subject matter expert.
