Michael Becker joined Pfizer in 2001 as Manager of Engineering for the Freiburg plant. He was
the head of sales at Krupp Corpoplast in Essen for several years before he became the head of
engineering for Faurecia Interior Systems, where he was involved in lean maintenance strategies,
Just In Time (JIT) production and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). He holds an Diploma
(Dip. Ing.) of Comprehensive University Essen since 1993 in mechanical engineering &
automation. Since 1998 Michael holds a certification of the International TPM Institute, INC and
Continous Hoshin (Kaizen, Quality, SMED, Kanban).
Within Pfizer Michael was responsible for projects like SPRING (Strategic Plant Restructuring),
automation in packaging and innovative energy and resource conservation projects. He achieved
that 93% of the manufacturing site are now CO2 neutral combined with attractive energy costs.
