Sue Joiner is a Vice President in the Fluor Procurement business line, and is currently responsible for the Asia Pacific Procurement and Strategic Sourcing Program. In this role, she is responsible for program implementation and development of Fluor’s capabilities to leverage the Asia supply base for price and schedule advantages, material market risk mitigation strategies, and to identify and leverage market differentiating opportunities. In addition to her efforts with the India and China strategic sourcing initiatives, she is also the procurement operations functional lead for the Asia Pacific Region. Sue has more than 20 years of experience across multiple functional areas, inclusive of project assignments, international assignments and operational management roles. Since joining the company in 1989, Sue has acquired experience in Marketing & Sales support, Business Development, Business Process Optimization, Software Application Life Cycle Management Data Center Operations, Procurement & Contract Management, Material Management and Program Management. Her career includes International office assignments in China and Europe, field project assignments, and multiple cross functional operational assignments. Prior to joining Fluor, Sue was a member of the US Navy armed forces and was responsible for management oversight for Preventive Medicine and Environmental Service Programs across regional military facilities. Responsibilities included Infectious and Hazardous Waste Disposal Management Practices, Infectious Disease Monitoring, Surveillance and Reporting Programs, and Oversight for Asbestos Sampling Procedures and Analysis. Sue is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in Information Management and Business Administration. Sue and her husband Jay currently live in Shanghai, China. In her free time, Sue enjoys golfing, reading, traveling and spending time with her family.
