Drew Sheffield is Global Purchasing Director for TI Automotive and is currently responsible for leading corporate purchasing and the fluid carrying systems division. He has more than 20 years of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and supplier procurement experience in the automotive industry. Upon joining TI Automotive in 2008, he implemented a global non-production purchasing organization, global commodity teams and strategies to optimize the production purchasing performance. He was also instrumental in identifying solutions to prevent capacity and supply disruptions from unexpected disasters such as the nylon resin crisis, flooding in Thailand, and the tsunami and earthquakes in Japan. Mr. Sheffield’s career also includes leadership roles as Buyer, Specialist, Purchasing Manager, and Purchasing Director with Ford Motor Company from 1993 until 2008. Here he developed and executed strategies for complex commodities, chaired global commodity teams, directly supervised buyers and managers, worked with cross-functional executives at program reviews, and built strong supplier relationships. He is an active member of the original equipment supplier association’s chief purchasing officer council and serves on the board of the 2013 Motor Vehicle Metals and Resins conference (MVMR). He earned his master’s degree in business administration from Indiana University, and holds a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Lehigh University.
