Samuel Kitchell is vice president, engineering for Baxter's BioScience business. In this role, he oversees a global engineering organization to manage the BioScience capital project portfolio, implement standards, and provide operations support. Sam took on his current role at Baxter in December 2012. He rejoined Baxter in August 2011 as Sr. Director of Engineering from Amgen where he was responsible for oversight of facilities and engineering at a manufacturing site for five years. Prior to Amgen, he spent 17 years in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries in roles of increasing responsibility in manufacturing and engineering including a previous seven year engagement with Baxter. Sam was appointed to the Rhode Island Water Resources Board by the Governor of the State of Rhode Island and served on the board for three years. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, cum laude, from the University of Illinois.
