Andrew Gonce is an Associate Principal in the Operations Practice of McKinsey & Company in the Atlanta office. Since joining McKinsey in 2005, he has focused on operations, gaining deep expertise in pharmaceutical operations, particularly in manufacturing. He recently returned from a secondment to a $6B medical device and pharmaceutical company as interim Vice President of Performance Systems responsible for an integrated approach to Quality, Compliance, and Operations improvements following two warning letters. Both as a consultant and executive, Andrew has focused on driving operations and cultural transformation. Prior to McKinsey, Andrew worked for Ford Motor Company as a product development and product verification engineer. He is certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt from his work in Ford assembly plants. Andrew earned an MBA from Darden at the University of Virginia, where he also published two case studies and three teaching notes on Six Sigma improvements and strategy. He regularly lectures MBA students at Darden and the Goizueta Business School at Emory. He also has earned a BSE in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Engineering Management from Duke University.
