In this effort, ISPE engaged teams of executives, companies and regulators around how ISPE could stimulate, understand and then motivate changes in tech transfer, manufacturing, quality systems, and regulatory and governance practices to mitigate shortages.

The survey and results received worldwide attention and was published in over 700 media reports including the Wall Street Journal. Their work has helped establish ISPE as the leader in the area of Drug Shortages and motivated the decision to run drug shortage workshops at every ISPE event in 2014, along with plans for further research in the findings.
