Dear Members of the ISPE Community,
ISPE is committed to providing Members and pharmaceutical industry professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary for career competence and success. In this effort, ISPE offers Members a mix of programs, services and other benefits that range from regulatory discussions, publications and technical briefs to global conferences and smaller networking and learning events through the ISPE Affiliates, Chapters and our Communities of Practice. New high visibility initiatives such as Quality Metrics, Breakthrough Therapies, Drug Shortages and others have involved a record number of Members this year, while collaborative activities with other not-for profit organizations with similar missions are resulting in enhanced value to Members worldwide.
As ISPE evolves new programs, its Leaders are also proactive in periodically evaluating existing programs and activities to ensure that ISPE is investing in strategies that enable us to best serve our Members. To that end, the ISPE International Board of Directors, at the quarterly meeting in September, voted to make a change in the Society's CPIP certification program. CPIP will be transitioning to a recertification program effective 30 November, 2013.
Professionals who currently hold the CPIP credential may continue to maintain the credential and be recognized for demonstrating the level of competence required to achieve it as long as they continue to meet recertification guidelines already established for the program. Additionally, those currently in the process of seeking the CPIP credential will still have the opportunity to do so; the examination will be available until 31 May 2014, and anyone who completes the certification process by that date will receive their credential and be eligible for recertification through the CPIP program post-transition.
ISPE will continue to work with and through our Affiliate and Chapter and other networks and partners to explore innovative approaches for addressing education, group study and credentialing needs that still remain and we anticipate further announcements in 2014. In the meantime, we will continue to rely on the respected input of those who have achieved and maintain the CPIP credential, and we sincerely thank the volunteers who have devoted their time to developing and supporting the CPIP program.
