COMMUNITY
Learn more about the team responsible for this month's Knowledge resource
The Packaging Community of Practice (COP) was formed in 2007 by packaging professionals who would benefit
from the opportunity of discussing topics of interest within multiple areas of packaging, including labeling
and warehousing. These discussions have resulted in the development of papers, Guidance Documents,
Knowledge Briefs, and educational programs to benefit ISPE Members and the industry.
The most recent publication developed by the Packaging COP is the Controlled Temperature Chamber Mapping
Concept Paper. They are also developing Knowledge Briefs as well as articles for the September/October 2012
issue of Pharmaceutical Engineering. The Packaging COP is currently seeking volunteers to help develop
technical articles and serve as COP Website Facilitators. Visit the Packaging COP website to learn more about the Packaging
COP and to get involved.

PROFESSION
Enhance your professional experience by presenting at an ISPE conference
One great avenue for sharing your expertise with fellow Members of ISPE is to present at one of our
conferences. Ask yourself these questions:
- Do I have a specialized knowledge of a particular process or technology that could be shared with other
Members?
- Is my knowledge up-to-date and comprehensive enough to address a global audience?
- Have I created and given a professional presentation before? Did I receive positive feedback?
- Do I have support from my company to attend and present at a conference?
- Do I have access to relevant case studies to support my presentation?
If you feel you are prepared to propose a presentation for a particular conference being sponsored by
ISPE, here are the steps to follow:
- Review the Education
Presenter Position Description (
82 KB).
- Submit a proposal for your presentation through Abstract Studio.
Following your proposal submission, you will receive feedback from ISPE’s proposal reviewers regarding
your submission. Once all proposals for the particular conference have been reviewed you will be informed of
their decision. If your proposal is accepted, you’ll be able to get started on putting the details of
your presentation together. The conference Program Committee and ISPE Continuing Education Staff will
work with you as your prepare for the conference. We’ll see you there!
