Critical Education, FDA Speakers, and New Technical Documents featured at ISPE’s 2010 Tampa Conference

(TAMPA, FLORIDA, USA, 29 JANUARY 2009) - ISPE's 2010 Tampa Conference, themed “Applying Solutions to Emerging Industry Challenges,” will include education sessions on inspection readiness, oral solid dosage, lean project delivery using commissioning and qualification and GAMP® 5 Guides, technology transfer, and containment technology, as well as HVAC, Water, and GAMP® 5 training courses.

Highlights of the Tampa Conference include:

  • From the initial decision on which syringes to process — bulk syringes or pre-sterilized syringes in tubs — to the latest inspection systems and laser marking technology, the two-day “Managing the Risks and Challenges of Syringe Processing” session will present the latest technologies and trends involved in syringe processing, examine global case studies, and provide interactive workshops with tangible processing solutions. Karen Hirschfield of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) has been invited to speak during this session.
  • Participants receive a complimentary copy of the ISPE Good Practice Guide: Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and learn how to apply its principles at the newly updated training course entitled, “HVAC for Pharmaceutical Facilities.” Since the publication of this release, this training course has sold out.
  • Participants receive complimentary copies of the Water and Steam Systems Baseline® Guide and the Good Practice Guide: C&Q of Water and Steam when they register for the newly added Pharmaceutical Water Generation training course that will cover the principles of design and operation of water systems used directly in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • ISPE is also offering a free webinar entitled, “Technology Transfer: Introduction and ISPE Tampa Conference 2010” on 2 February 2010 to assist those attendees registered for the “Technology Transfer: Focus on the Business Process and Practical Execution” session who may not be familiar with this topic. Elaine Morefield of the US FDA has been invited to speak during the Tampa session. Registration for the webinar is free for session registrants.
  • Tabletop exhibits from more than 50 of the industry’s top suppliers of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, and networking opportunities for pharmaceutical industry professionals.
