Boost your knowledge.

Book your FREE virtual seat on July 7th from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. CET, for the training pill held in english organized by ISPE Italy Emerging Leaders & Students group:

"Overall Equipment Effectiveness in the Industry 4.0 era"

The speaker will be Massimiliano M. Schiraldi, Professor in Industrial Systems Engineering, PhD, MBA at “Tor Vergata” University in Rome.

OEE, one of the most popular KPIs in manufacturing, was first introduced by Seiichi Nakajima in 1988 in Nippondenso – a Toyota supplier. Almost forty years have passed and, in the meantime, technology has advanced to levels that were unimaginable at that time.

The assumptions underlying the design of this KPI are no longer valid now; yet, it is still considered a pillar of any continuous improvement strategy in manufacturing companies in any industry sector, even those far from automotive, even the Pharma industry.

We will analyse together the reasons for this longevity and, above all, whether and how the technological advancement of Industry 4.0 can or should change the criteria for calculating or using this KPI. Finally, we will look at the interpretation given to OEE in the ISO22400 standard, which defines how KPIs should be implemented or deployed in Manufacturing Operations Management and which is becoming increasingly critical in the design of production lines and the MES and ERP information systems that must interface with them.

Who can participate
If you are not a ISPE member yet, you are still welcome and have the possibility to participate in the event as a Guest, but notice that, as a Guest to ISPE Italy ELs&Students, “Training Pills” is limited to one event per year.
