Richard D. Braatz is the Edwin R. Gilliland Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where he does research in the design and control of continuous (bio)pharmaceutical manufacturing systems. He leads the Quality-by-Design (QbD) and control systems activities in many (bio)pharmaceutical manufacturing efforts at MIT. He has consulted or collaborated with more than 20 companies including Novartis, Pfizer, Merck, Biogen, and Amgen.
