The Women in Pharma (WIP) Networking Community launched its first education series at the ISPE 2016 Annual Meeting & Expo. Thank you Fran Zipp and Charlotte Enghave Fruergaard for leading this important initiative. One goal for this group was to fund a scholarship through the sale of Women in Pharma lapel pins. Since the inaugural event took place at our conference in Atlanta, Georgia, we dedicated the first Women in Pharma Scholarship to a student at University of Georgia (UGA).
I am very pleased to share that Wided Najahi-Missaoui was granted the ISPE’s first Women in Pharma Scholarship. She is currently a fifth-year doctoral student at UGA, investigating nanoparticulate drug delivery systems such as liposomes to target therapies for prostate and breast cancer. Her overall goal is to integrate the pathophysiology of cancer with the pharmacology of these drug delivery systems to develop more efficient targeted cancer therapies.

Join myself and Wided Najahi-Missaoui at the ISPE 2017 Annual Meeting & Expo in San Diego, California where we are proud to host two sessions dedicated to the success of Women in Pharma. Key female executives in the pharmaceutical industry will lead these sessions focusing on professional development and technical knowledge.
