Midwest Chapter Student Chapters

ISPE student chapters are established to introduce students to the variety of majors which are relevant to careers in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology fields which they may not have considered before.

ISPE student members are very important. They are the future of the industry and ISPE as a society. We are currently expanding our student chapters to community colleges and universities around our region. In past years the Midwest Chapter has held poster competitions and sent student members to the ISPE Annual Meeting.

Our chapter has recently established the following goals for the upcoming year:

  • Locate specific projects at manufacturers that students could tackle via summer internship and/or team semester project
  • Schedule plant tours that appeal to students, young professionals, and industry veterans
  • Increase poster competition participants¬†general information and rules here
  • Expand student membership at the community college level to bolster entry level knowledge about pharmaceuticals starting in Kansas City and St. Louis as requested by industry leaders

These goals can only be achieved through active participation of student members and help from the ISPE community. Volunteers are needed for the following activities:

  • Industry mentors for student chapter meetings
  • Poster competition judges
  • Faculty advisors for new student chapters
  • Event Planners for facility tours and student content
  • Student poster submissions
  • Student and young professional event sponsors and hosts

If you would like to assist in helping with these goals, establishing and supporting student chapters in your area, speaking at a student chapter meetings, hosting facility tours for students and members, or provide employment and learning opportunities through a student internship, please contact Tiffany Coleman, Midwest Chapter Secretary, at 816-210-7076.
