Meet University of Strathclyde - 2016 FOYA Honorable Mention Winner
University of Strathclyde CMAC is one of three companies recognized as a 2016 ISPE Facility of the Year (FOYA) Honorable Mention Winner for their Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC) Project in Glasgow, Scotland. The TIC is a nine-story collaborative research and conference centre in the city centre of Glasgow which includes research spaces, collaborative meeting spaces and laboratories for approximately 900 staff and provides an environment for up to 750 academics, researchers, project managers, and industry partners to work together in state-of-the-art research and innovation facilities. CMAC’s vision is to accelerate the adoption of continuous manufacturing processes, systems, and plants for the production of high-value pharmaceutical and fine chemical products to higher quality, at lower cost and more sustainably. It is led by the University of Strathclyde and involves six additional Universities and has been shaped through collaboration with industry and the input of its Tier 1 partners: GSK, AstraZeneca, Novartis and Bayer. It is home to internationally recognized cutting edge research and development of novel process manufacturing technology in continuous manufacturing, process automation and characterization. The project represents an exemplary collaboration between industry, academia, and government which represents the future of pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chain R&D framework and is dedicated to supporting partnership-building, with business, industry, academics, and the public sector working together to provide solutions to major economic, technological, and societal challenges.
